| The IATTO Accreditation System |
|
What is the main objective of IATTO’s Accreditation System?
To help members improve their competitive position by:
 |
offering an internationally recognised quality stamp; |
 |
setting standards to improve the quality and delivery of training/education designed for the global market place; |
 |
defining competencies needed in different international trade occupations. |
Who is eligible for IATTO Accredited Provider status?
Accredited IATTO national agents are selected from amongst IATTO’s Institutional Members. Applications are assessed by the IATTO Accreditation Committee and then submitted to the IATTO Board for ratification. |
 |
How many IATTO accredited agents operate in each country?
This depends on the size of the market. However, in most countries, IATTO will appoint only one national agent. Where no local institutions are eligible for this status, candidates seeking an IATTO qualification are directed to an Accredited Provider located in a different country for assessment.
How does the assessment process work?
Those Institutional Members who fulfil all of IATTO’s accreditation requirements may use the ‘IATTO Accredited Provider’ logo on all their materials for a period of two years. Thereafter, accreditation can be renewed any number of times provided the institution continues to comply with IATTO’s stated criteria.
Should an institution not meet specified criteria for IATTO Accredited Provider status, it will be able to re-apply for accreditation after two years from the date of refusal. During this period, it is expected that the institution concerned will have made significant strides towards complying with IATTO’s requirements.
What is the benefit of being awarded IATTO Accredited Provider status?
An IATTO Accredited Provider may award IATTO diplomas and certificates to all students/programme participants who have met the relevant syllabus and standards criteria prescribed by IATTO. It can also arrange for interested individuals to sit examinations, or to be assessed in other ways, in order to qualify for the award of an IATTO qualification.
How do Associate and Individual Members of IATTO benefit from the IATTO Accreditation System?
Only Institutional or Associate Members of IATTO may prepare students/programme participants to be assessed for an IATTO qualification. Similarly, only trainers who are Individual Members of IATTO may participate in the preparation of students/programme participants for IATTO qualifications.
